Ive often been intrigued by the sight of the occasional single shoe on the side of the road. Today on the side of Hwy 271 I spotted a single aluminum crutch. Not kidding. I laugh to myself and think the explanation is obvious...a miraculous healing. LOL! As I drive on my way I keep thinking about the crutch and I think.it must have blown off from someones pick-up? Then I began thinking..not likely. but.. maybe someone was walking. and fell into the ditch. So I decided on my return trip home i would look for the crutch & maybe look in the ditch..... Sure enough,,,a crippled man had fallen into the ditch!! I ran back up the hill & flagged down a car as I was apprehensive about approaching this person. The man in the car and I approached the man in the ditch, he had hit his head on something as he tumbled. We told him we will call an ambulance, he said No, I cant afford an ambulance fee. We assisted the man into the motorists car and the motorist took him to the hospital .I called the hospital later and was told he will be O.K.
