Ive posted these before on the RAEME site but I reckon you blokes might find these of some interest too, being buckets and all. I worked on the upgrade in 09 at BAE Willy town Vic as a welder. The cars came stripped, blasted and then placed in a rotary. Then cut in half using a circular saw( seriously) and prepped with a router for welding. Mortar cars had their arses cut off and made into flatbeds, ACVs became ambos I believe with the rest being APCs. Separated, stretched, extra wheel added then welded out took about a week. Then sent to Bandy fitted out and onto you guys. For those that dont know or remember me I was the Sqn welder from 00-04. I took Fergs place. Unfortunately I didnt get the honour of serving overseas with regt and my only claim to fame in the Sqn was I built the billy cart that beat 162 with a bit of help from Derek Brown if memory serves me. B Sqn was my last unit in the army, a group of top blokes that I wish I had got to known better. All the best for tomorrow with the change over fellas , as ya say resolute...
