Ive posted this video before, and Im posting it again to show a simple point. The only thing that will stop poor choices in a truck is the driver. There is not one single piece of equipment in use, or government regulation in the pipeline that will change this. We need better training to make better drivers. Electronic log books, decreased work hours, speed limiters, crash avoidance technology. . .none of that would have prevented this, or many other accidents just like it. Personal responsibility, and training. That makes safer roads. Tell your elected officials in D.C. the FMCSA needs to force better training standards on truck schools and carriers. That should be at the forefront of truck safety. We have not addressed training standards since Jimmy Carter was president. That needs to change.
