Ive put in my submission. We really need everyone to do their own as well. Help fight against the gagging of teachers NZEI believes the Government is rushing through legislation to replace the Teachers Council with a new body giving teachers substantially less control over our own profession. It appears its aim is to get the legislation in place before the election. April 30 has been set as the final date for submissions. We strongly encourage members and parents to make a brief submission. The Education Amendment Bill No. 2 which converts the Teachers Council into EDUCANZ would undermine quality teaching and professional autonomy by giving teachers substantially less control over the profession making it easier for unqualified staff to act as teachers and threatening to stifle free and frank comment about education policy.
