Ive read recently comments from sparks, may be instigated by those who understandably believed the BESNA victory was our stepping stone to return to our Glory Days and should have kicked on with the momentum visible to everyone at that time. They are right to share their opinions, and do in fact include some positive truths in their interpretation of events. They must realise too, that those involved and active in the R&F get frustrated too, as the devaluing, de skilling, and disrespect continues in our industry. Everyone is happy when they got money in their pockets, a good job and everything is going well, but the reverse of this is everyone should be angry when confronted with the manipulation and exploitation of our trade by employers, the agencies and the umbrella outfits, and be able to stand together and show we wont take it !!!!!. But where is the anger ? Underlying factors in all of it should not become a campaign of personalised blame of other sparks or R&F brothers, but to look at the simplicity of how and why our Agreements are being abused so easily, by employers throughout the UK. UNITE THE UNION, have not and will not encourage membership, if the result means we the Bears are in control of the movement,and the officials lose their comfort zones, thats down to us to promote and build on !! All those questioning the involvement of UNITE, or think, what have they done for us, are in the right !! Lets be fair its true !! To become a union it take a lot of cash, a lot of members and a lot of self belief, and thats whats lacking in so many of the sparks around the place. Our future depends on us working now, all of us !! Get on board, take up membership, quit the in fighting, and gain strength and power through solidarity, then and only then will the union realise who is in control, and constantly do as they should, and thats anything and everything for the workers they represent.
