Ive recently been telling the girls about the growing list of things Im going to do when I visit their homes after theyve grown up and moved out. Spill my drinks. All the time. Take the pillows off the couches and leave them random places. Loudly demand food, drink, and that someone pick up my nook. Interrupt them whenever they try to talk to their spouse. Turn their flashlights on and leave them in a seldom used room. Get up during meals to do, well, something else. Turn on all the lights on a level of the house and then leave that level. Trash the back seat of their car. Request a particular thing for a meal and then refuse to eat it. Decide to play the piano loudly, but only when theyre on the phone. Ask them repeatedly to come and look at something really important, but only when they are clearly in the middle of a task. Demand water in the middle of the night, and complain that my blanket isnt covering me any more and that they need to fix it. Its a work in progress.
