Ive recently heard about the practice of miss-mixing, where DJs make mistakes on purpose, because otherwise software and controllers make mixing sound flawless. This is sad. The ability to have tracks synced allows the DJ to mix up many more than 2 sources - 4, 6 etc. That in turn allows for creating sets that lie somewhere between DJing and playing live - a medium that lets the performer do some really creative stuff. Using the technology to emulate non-synced mixing instead of expanding ones creativity is just sad. Ean Golden is showing off the real power of the SYNC button in the linked video.
