Ive removed a couple of posts this morning. I feel like the hall monitor (which I dont like), but we need to keep this group within the confines of the description. The first post debated the existence of a seminary. I know nothing about it, and the involved parties should bring it to the Board of Ministry if there is a dispute. As an aside, in LCMC there is great freedom- to call pastors and support ministries. With that freedom comes the responsibility to do your due diligence. For example, if youre a congregation, read the call packet from LCMC, do background and credit checks on prospective pastors... do your research (and pastors, do YOUR research on congregations). The same goes with theological institutes, missionaries, mission organizations, etc. I dont know the details of the case posted on here, but each individual needs to do their own homework. The second post was about an Islamic groups and someone from the ELCA. That has nothing to do with LCMC networking. Im not judging the organizations involved, and Im not saying the issues are not ever relevant, but these issues dont fall within the stated confines of the LCMC group purpose. Within a few minutes of its posting, debate was starting to focus on Brietbart, etc., and that really isnt appropriate for this forum.
