Ive said all along that you might not always agree with me, but youll always know where I stand. You deserve to hear debate from your elected officials and you deserve to know where exactly your elected officials stand – that only happens when you get folks on the record with an up or down vote. For many months, youve heard me go after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for not bringing over 400 bills to the Senate floor for debate and a vote. Hiding legislation and keeping the American people in the dark is the sort of procedure that ran rampant under Nancy Pelosi and is currently the way things go in the Senate. The American people deserve a full and robust debate on the issues and they deserve to have them in the light of day. Voting no on the rule assures us that a bad bill comes back to the floor quickly in even worse shape. Voting to allow debate to continue and minimize the damage until reinforcements arrive in January was the most Conservative vote. I voted no on the Cromnibus because it is a really bad, pork-laden bill that does not defund nor restrict the Presidents unlawful executive amnesty.
