Ive said this two dozen times....so heres the two dozen and one times...CONSIDER .... just CONSIDER that youre PERCEPTION of something maybe just that ...YOUR perception ....conveniently edited according to YOUR bias....and an incomplete picture......so stop with the closed mind about a person..... a situation.....or a stereotype......... A jury pychologist told me once that the average juror makes up his/her mind about the outcome of a case generally within one hour....based upon the kind of case it is....based upon the APPEARANCE of the players....based upon what verdict they are asked to render....this is because or their PRECONCEPTIONS....of right and wrong....and their belief that they can just intuit when someone is lieing or telling the truth. and that they spend the ENTIRE rest of the trial....extracting ONLY the evidence with conforms to their preconceptions.....and rejecting evidence that refutes it I think this is how most of us go through life.....it certainly is how we pick our news sources.....how we choose our friends.....were like vacuum cleaners.....that only pick up the things we wish and then do so with abandon...... you will ALWAYS find people to confirm YOUR world view....maybe not a lot.....sometimes just one or two....depending on your circumstances....and BOY is it comforting when you do.....some call this finding a soulmate.....but do you ever really learn from a parrot? I am the LAST person in the world to give this lecture.....tolerant as I am...for diversity of opinion......but i had one of those....slap on the forehead moments today.....when talking to someone one....wherein...you realize....they never really meant that which you knew you heard.....based upon what the knew to be true which they now realize was just a rumor....and they would of called but didnt think you wanted to talk to them which is of course why you never called back.....and you realize you BOTH.....had been ENTIRELY wrong....on just about EVERYTHING.... FRIGHTENING to think......how important decisions can be based upon faulty or incomplete PERCEPTIONS...............
