Ive seen a lot of posts by people upset over the LHUSD school bond failure. We should start thinking of ways that we as individuals can help out the schools rather than continuing to complain that the government isnt doing enough. Has anyone started a crowd funding event for the air conditioning or the busses or the fields? Maybe some of the tax credit money could be directed towards those things as well (Im not sure - they might need to start an infrastructure club and get it approved as an entity able to benefit from those credits). With all of the social media buzz Im sure we could raise at least some money that could help the schools and everyone can be a part of it rather than only property owners. There is no prohibition against individual and corporate charity. We raised money for the ice machine for the football field earlier this year - a small start, but an action rather than waiting for government to get bigger and taxes to go higher.
