Ive seen many high budget movies on my flatscreen that look like they were filmed on cheap video tape, giving them a day-time soap opera feel, which is horrible. Turns out, this is done on purpose by modern TVs via their smooth motion setting (which makes a 24 frame/second film appear like a super sharp 60 frame/second film). I just learned of this, and turned mine off. I much prefer the natural graininess of film.
