Ive seen the which internet? question posted here several times so I thought Id share a few things Ive learned working in the business and moving to a new area and checking out the competition. There are several things involved in making your decision about internet service providers: 1) cost 2) speed 3) data usage. When you talk to your provider ask all 3 questions to be sure you are getting the service you want for the price you pay. Usage is the hardest to capture because the companies can be arbitrary in how they apply the limits. In our area, AT&T enforces their limits 100% while Charter has more tolerance depending on how many times you exceed your limit and by how much. That will likely change once their new network is in place; right now they want as many customers as they can get. With some folks wanting to cut out cable service, the data limits on internet are going to be policed more closely as they try to recoup their cable service losses. There are a lot of data calculators out there to help you estimate you needs; but here is one that AT&T provides so you can get an idea of what you can do with their 150 and 250 GB limits.
