Ive spent the most perfect Friday night listening to my daughter tell me about her field trip today to meet Eva Kor a survivor of the Holocaust. Ive listened to her tell me horrible details of Eva seeing dead children and used as an experiment because she was a twin. She has never been been able to bury any of her family they were all taken from her and killed. She has had guns held to her head and been without food/water. She is a remarkable lady, but what really keeps me awake tonight is Eva told those 9th graders today she forgives everyone that hurt her and killed her family. I cant understand that kind of forgiveness . Ive never been hurt like Eva Kor or had my family hurt in front of me, but sometimes people hurt us and it breaks our heart and we want to cry out in pain and frustration.... Im asking for the kind of forgiveness she has given to her captors.
