Ive stumbled upon this quote and it brings up a couple of questions...Atheist Richard Dawkins writes: In a universe of blind physical force and genetic replication, some people are going to get hurt; other people are going to get lucky; and you wont find any rhyme or reason in it, nor any justice. The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at the bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, and no other good, nothing but blind pitiless indifference. DNA neither knows nor cares. DNA just is, and we dance to its music. Is Dawkins right? If hes right wouldnt it be reasonable for a rapist/murderer to simply claim as a defense: what I did is not right or wrong Im just dancing to my DNA.? Maybe you think Dawkins is wrong and that there is Good and Evil, there is purpose and design in the universe, if thats the case whats the foundation for Good and Evil, how do we differentiate between the two? Is there a moral law giver? If we are more than a collection of molecules what gives us value? Love to see some comments on this...I also hold that I may be way off...tell me how.
