Ive tried for over a year and a half to figure out whats wrong with Yeller. Weve seeked advice from different vets and chiropractors and trainers, tried 15+ different saddles, tried switching feed and hay, tried calming supplements, tried round pen exercises and trust building exercises, and more... Well in the back of my mind I thought he might have ulcers based on some of his symptoms and reactions to stimuli. The vets, chiropractors, trainers, they all have disagreed with me or said they werent sure. Well on a whim about a week ago, I decided to start feeding to Yeller twice daily Equitum to balance his gut pH levels, and Forco to help his digestion. This evening, I was able to groom Yeller all over his body with a curry comb and he never tensed up like he usually does. I was able to scratch him with my fingers in his girth and flank areas and he didnt even flinch once. He didnt jump to the side, he didnt raise his head, he didnt pace around, and he didnt frantically call for the other horses. He didnt act like I was a monster who was going to eat him. He licked and chewed, he sighed, he wiggled his lips, he acted like a HAPPY horse. He actually leaned towards me and WANTED me to groom him (I think). I dont remember the last time he was ever this way. Hopefully this evening wasnt just a fluke. Hopefully Ive finally figured out what has been troubling Yeller so much. And hopefully he will stay this way!!!!!
