Izet Nanić was born 4 October 1965 in Bužim. He finished High School in 1984 in Zagreb. After being accepted in the military academy in Belgrade, where he was for two years, then going to Sarajevo for 1 year. Then going back to Zagreb again in 1987 where he finished the military academy. He was married and has three children: a daughter Izeta, born 1988 and two sons Nevzet, born 1991, and Ibrahim, born 1993. Bosnian War At the beginning of Bosnian War, he joined the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He became the commander of the 505th Brigade of the Fifth Corps led by Brigadier General Atif Dudaković. He led the command for four years, the entire war. His dad said, "Izet Nanić was an angel who came down to earth and did his job. Then, he went up again." Izet Nanić was killed in action on 5 August 1995.
