I’d like to expand a little on my earlier post. We’ve made it - TopicsExpress

I’d like to expand a little on my earlier post. We’ve made it to a milestone of 3 years in business. So far it has been the hardest and most stressful thing I have ever done, but it has also been the best. 4 years ago, I was bartending in some of Pittsburgh’s seediest dive bars, now I am running one of the greatest coffee bars in Pittsburgh. It’s been a wild ride. I’ve been very blessed to be surrounded by the greatest support system a person could ask for. I’d like to thank the following: My parents, whom without, Coffee Buddha could not exist. They believed in my vision, nourished it, and supported it financially, emotionally, mentally, and of course with hard physical labor. My parents are wonderful. They’ve put up with my shit since day one, let me make my own mistakes, and have helped me grow into the man I am today. I love you both. My staff. Most people in business will tell you one of the hardest things is finding good help. I am in the minority. I have been blessed with finding and hiring like-minded people that saw the bigger picture and treated a minimum wage paying job and turned it into something very special. My current team of Cassandra, Trevor, Hailey, and Sarah work so hard, and again are able to put up with my shit. Trevor and Cassandra have literally been with me since day one. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. If there’s one thing I’ve done correct, it’s hire the right people. Coffee Buddha has had only a handful of employees in its short existence, with a very low turn-over rate. People have come and gone for various reasons, but I’d like to recognize and thank them as well. Camille, Mike, Bethany, Danny, Kelly, and Darrion. Thank you for helping me get started and make Coffee Buddha what it is today. I’d like to thank TJ Fairchild and The Commonplace Coffee Co. for getting me started, teaching me about the bean, and being so supportive of my vision. They are the best of the best, and I’m honored to be in their extended family. James Rich and the PGH Taco Truck for bringing an exciting element to my business, bringing us recognition, and introducing me to a lot of wonderful people in the industry. James has been instrumental to our continued success and I am so happy to have him headquarter his business in our little suburban coffee house that the city of Pittsburgh might otherwise ignore. All of the business’ I have worked with. The bakeries, Deb, Danielle from Tupelo Honey Teas, Jamie from Steer and Wheel and all of the other food trucks I have developed a relationship with; Jim and The Perrytown Drafthouse, Stoke’s Grill, and any other business’ I may have forgotten. Thanks to all my regulars, one-timers, and anyone that has walked through my doors. It has been an honor to serve you. Thanks John Brandt for being the shop’s uncle and picking up bakery orders for me so I don’t have to get up even earlier. Thank you Cassandra for everything you’ve done and continue to do daily. The true quality control of Coffee Buddha who works tirelessly at making Coffee Buddha the best. The most amazing woman I’ve met. I’d like to thank my personal friends and family that have helped me along the way, and the ones I’ve made through the shop. 1000 thank yous wouldn’t cover it. Finally I’d like to thank my friends who I’ve lost along the way. I am so lucky to have known you. Thank you for your influence. Cheers, Mike Coffee Buddha
