I’ll give it a go. Our ancient ancestors depended upon their sense skills to recognize forms, shapes and patterns for survival. A species that was slower than it’s neighbor in discerning a rock from a lion in the savannah grasses was at an evolutionary disadvantage. A species that couldn’t discern color was at a disadvantage in the organic race to complexity. Visual paradoxes are fun because they play with our need to latch onto a pattern when there are two or more patterns presented to us. What interests me is the world between the transitions from image to image. It is that brief space/time between the moments of recognition that fascinates me. It helps me stretch my imagination to the other dimensional.
