I’ll try and keep this as short as possible and this is not all about football, please bear with the first two parts… ***IMPORTANT PART*** MYSELF, JOSH REYNOLDS AND JAMES PERKINS WILL BE RUNNING 14.7 MILES FROM STAFFORD TO NEWCASTLE-UNDER-LYME ON SATURDAY 14TH OF FEBRUARY IN THE AID OF A GOOD CAUSE: ***LESS IMPORTANT PART*** Some of you will be aware that I go and watch Stafford Rangers football club most weeks: home and away. We aren’t a tiny football club by any means but we are very different to what a lot of you will know as a football club, currently attracting crowds of 450-500 in the eighth tier of English football, as opposed to the tens of thousands that many larger clubs attract. The club has experienced three relegations in the last seven years and financial struggles hit hard. Fortunately, due to hard work of many club officials and supporters, a corner now seems to have been turned and the club is battling for a play-off place and finances have been stabilized. ***IMPORTANT PART AGAIN*** This season there is a fan lead project going on called ‘Raise the Roof’, the aim being to raise £10k in order to fund a new shelter behind one of the goals – the shelter being identical to the original ‘Shed End’ which stood from the 1960’s before being taken down in 2007 (picture hopefully coming below, waiting on permission). It is a totally fan-funded initiative that has currently raised £6k. We want to keep the momentum going and ask for SPONSORSHIP FOR A 14.7 MILE RUN that we will be doing FROM STAFFORD RANGERS TO NEWCATLE TOWN on Saturday 14th February (such is our love for the club). It also happens to be the date of the away fixture at Newcastle… We appreciate that this isn’t a cause that everybody can necessarily relate to, but it is a good cause and will benefit a football club in the local community massively.
