I’m Adrian Wyllie, Libertarian candidate for Governor of Florida. As a third generation, native Floridian, Florida’s environment is critical to me. But, we have to first understand that the current corruption in the Florida Department Environmental Protection and the EPA is actually causing more environmental problems than it solves. The EPA and the FDEP have actually turned into corporate polluter protection rackets. They allow for polluters to get out of jail free by paying for the right permits or paying off the right elected officials. The first step in the process is ending the corruption and realizing that these organizations are doing much more harm than good. We have situations right now in Florida where, for example, the polluters are allowed to dump into the Saint Johns River simply because they got the right permits from government. We have other situations, like the Lake Okeechobee discharge, where the Army Corps of Engineers is responsible for not only creating the problem that lead to flooding in Lake Okeechobee, but also releasing the dams, which damages the Indian River Lagoon and the Caloosahatchee. We have to realize that to solve these problems we have to address the root cause. We have to go back and allow the natural ecosystems to be restored the right way. Instead of spending six billion dollars on these massive projects that only put band aids on the problem, we have to fix the root cause, and that’s what I intend to do as governor. So, please consider me when November rolls around for your vote, because, if you want to solve Florida’s environmental issues, we need a governor that will do it the right way.
