I’m Korean serial fan but I also support Ch8 lah. This wk I caught final 2 episodes of 9pm serial “In the name of Love”- attracted by the “reality” portion. It was sobering to see how Sgp’s Sean Connery (u know who or not?) cared for his dementia-stricken wife. Scenes of wife eating non-stop, bullied by maid, messing hse r cases that I’ve heard/read as I hv frens caring for dementia-stricken parents. Many babyboomers care for aging parents. Wonder if there r enough day-care or residential places. As Asians, I think most people try to give direct care to parents for as long as they can-sometimes sharing duties with siblings. By 2030 when I’m over 65, it’s likely that the aged will hv only 1 or 2 kids that provide care. Is eldercare tougher than childcare? Eldercare may cause some to b stressed n even leave their jobs. People wonder why I support work-life harmony n flexible work arrangements. Being able to work on some afternoons or some days at home will help to relieve main care-giver. Is 2030 quite far away?
