I’m a firm believer that it’s important to set goals in all - TopicsExpress

I’m a firm believer that it’s important to set goals in all areas of my life. Goals help keep me focused and provide momentum through the rough times. Now that I have come clean about my secret binges I feel it’s time to set a new weight goal for myself. I weighed in this morning at 158.2. Since this is my first time weight training I’m not sure what a realistic long term weight goal should be for me so I’m kind of playing it by ear. I get bored really easy and have a hard time finishing goals, if they are too far in the future, so this time around I’m going to set monthly goals. For the month of August my goal is to lose 6 pounds (I’m also measuring myself). I’ve also been working on a food plan to help me reach my goal this month. I’m a big believer in ‘eating clean’, the fresher the better. I hate counting calories but that seems to be what works the best for me. Last week I came across the Carb Cycle eating plan on Chris Powells website. It’s basically what I have already been doing but with a slight twist. Because I’m working a lot with weights I’m going to follow the Turbo Carb Cycle (you eat a little more protein) but will probably switch to the Fit Carb Cycle (more carbs) once I start to increase my running mileage. I’m also working on a new spiritual goal that I plan to share soon. Anyone else setting new goals? "I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified." 1 Corinthians 9:26-27 Link for Carb Cycle info in the comments.
