I’m a great believer in sharing stories and products and services that I come in contact with that I think are amazing. So, here’s one that’s not sport or child related!!!!! :) As you know, around 12 months ago I decided that I wanted to start my own company and create do something that I’ve always wanted to do. I didn’t tell many people my idea because I knew it sounded completely ridiculous and didn’t want anyone to talk me out of it. So, 12 months on and still plugging away and I’ve had lots of challenges (more than you can poke a stick at) but I’ve had great support and we’re launching in November. I’ve transferred a lot of the lessons learned from being an Elite gymnast and living at the Australian Institute of Sport and transferred them into business but nothing more so than, to save time and money, seek out and surround yourself with likeminded people. Get the best mentors / coaches that have the experience and knowledge or the recipe to get you to where you want to go. So, with this thinking, I researched and connected with a company called The Entourage which I have been involved with for 12 months. These guys and girls are something special. They are Australia’s largest educator of Entrepreneurs under 40 and it’s safe to say that they’re F*^%ing awesome at what they do. I’ve connected with some wonderful people within this community and made some wonderful friends. I’ve learned from the best and shared my ups and downs with them. Yep being a stay and home, train at home Mum and work from home Mum can be lonely at times but connecting with this community has made this journey very special. Last week I had a very tough week with Paul being away and Conor being awfully sick. I received numerous phone calls and messages from this community and today a card in the mail from The Entourage letting me know that they’re thinking of me and wishing Conor a speedy recovery. So, not just a company giving me a great education but also a community of friendship and support which is something that extremely rare in today’s society and something I value deeply. Great leaders know the way, show the way and go the way and these guys certainly do that.
