I’m a hopeless romantic, I’m the sort of girl that kisses a guy’s photograph good night and good morning daily. If there is one thing that I want to kiss nowadays, it’s not some hunk’s luscious mouth but an airplane. A Piper Archer to be exact. It’s just amazement at the fact that this flimsy clunky machine could hover above ground and take me places. I mean once you realize how mindbowing this is- that human beings actually invented a machine that could FLY- never again would we be pissed about short delays in flight and airline food. Last Monday I had an opportunity to ride again in a Piper Archer. Once again, the planned trip to Jomalig Island in Quezon got postponed due to inclement weather. (It’s cloudy over the Sierra Madre mountains and it’s particularly dangerous to fly over there in such condition.) So we looked at the map, made a few calls at the airport control tower and decided to go to La Union Intl Airport instead. After all I have never surfed nor gone to any of the beaches in that province. I had the impression that the beaches there aren’t so nice and people only go there to SURF but as commonly happens nowadays, turns out that I was WRONG. The beaches are particularly clean and scenic, with long wide shorelines with very fine sand. We stayed at Sunset German Beach Resort with appetizing and well-priced European food. I can’t believe that it was just a day trip, travel time is only an hour one way and we’ve gone even further than Baguio!
