I’m attending the Canadian Medical Association’s annual meeting in Ottawa. The Minister of Health just delivered a speech that was full of platitudes, but was entirely lacking in substance or solutions to the challenges facing our health care system. The bright side? She acknowledged her government’s complete failure on “voluntary” drug shortage reporting, and is now considering mandatory reporting...four years after the Liberal Party of Canada, physicians, and pharmacists called for it.
