I’m back after a two week tour out west. Unfortunately 3 days before leaving I twisted my ankle which turned out to be broken. So with my right foot in cast and on crutches put a little bump in the road. If not for family and friends this trip could have been a disaster. Luckily I had going with me was my wife Barb and my daughter Melissa and her boyfriend Rob. They made it easy for me with all the arrangements for handicap access and by getting wheel chairs, scooters and getting us to the front of the lines. We set out late Wed., July 24th and checked into our room in San Francico early Thurs morn. Rob went around the block and rented me a scooter for touring around San Fancisco. We left San Fran for Lake Tahoe around noon Friday for a suite we had reserved there. Leaving there around noon we headed to the Eagles Grand Convention in Reno, NV. There we met up with other Eagle members, Tim Lecours & Sonia Richard (who Barb & I stood up with as they got married atop the Stratosphere in Vegas later in the week) and Kevin & Dinne O’Leary. I also met up with State Pres Dave Marston & wife BJ and Past Pres Paul Gregoire. I will give a convention report at our meeting next Wednesday. We flew out of Reno Thurs. Aug 1 to Las Vegas where we met up with our son Craig. There Craig had a suite and a scooter waiting. After 3 nights at the suite and a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon we moved to the MGM Grand where Missy had rooms waiting right on the strip. We left early Tues. morning returning home where we found awelcome home banner that our Daughter Heather put up when she stopped in to drop our dog off. She also picked up around the house as her husband mowed our lawn. Well this is the short version of the past two weeks and I have lots more to tell, so if you see me around we can sit down and talk about it. It looks like I’m going to have the time as it looks like 6-8 weeks I’ll be out of work. See ya for the Queen of Hearts drawing Friday evening which is looking to be more than $14,000.00 , Fred
