I’m curious to know your opinion. We saw the 2013 version of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty last night and were hugely disappointed. I like Ben Stiller but not in this movie, although I understand many people loved him in this role. We found it slow/boring, unfunny, disjointed and there was too much that didn’t make sense (I’m not talking about Mitty’s fantasy sequences). I really enjoyed the 1947 version starring Danny Kaye (I love Kaye in just about anything he did) and have seen it several times. The two movies were vastly different from each other in so many ways, and both were quite different from James Thurbers original 1939 short story. My husband, who hated this new film, doesn’t remember much about the Danny Kay version, so he wasn’t judging by comparison, as I probably am. My questions to you: 1. If you saw both movies, which did you like better—and why? 2. If you only saw the new Ben Stiller version, what did you think of it?
