I’m greatly concerned by the numerous reports of extreme pressure on services at Northampton General Hospital. John Prescott’s comments about his sister’s experience at NGH are sadly not unique. Staff, patients and families have been contacting me about treatment taking place in corridors, vulnerable patients left anxious without a ward bed to be transferred to and a shortage of qualified staff on the wards. What worries me most is that this has not been a particularly severe January weather-wise.
