I’m in Nebraska and I live with my parents who run sort a farm. They depend on me and my sisters to help with certain things around the place and we all do a good job together. Lately I have been thinking of getting out of her and joining the marines. I know it is not easy and I have a lot to learn and im tired of hearing that. i don’t want to do what my parents do and my dad seems to think im crazy for wanting to leave but I don’t want to stay here. Problem is if I leave there is no one to help my sisters run this place and my mom and dad need the help bad. What should I do? You have to decide where your happy meter falls and make a decision on where you want your life to go. If running a farm is not what you want you have to speak up before any further plans are made on your behalf so you don’t waste your family’s time. They may have options to hire help or something else, but again, if your heart is not in being where you are you have to consider the fact that you only get one chance sometimes to travel the world young and strong and this may be it. Once the opportunity has passed you may not get it back and then you may become really upset and regretful.
