I’m not after Keshi’s job – Siasia Coach of Nigeria’s Under 23 men’s national team, Samson Siasia, has said he is not concerned with the task of coaching the Super Eagles. The Africa Cup of Nations champions’ inability to defend their title at the 2015 edition of the competition in Equatorial Guinea has thrown a lot of pressure on the Nigeria Football Federation to boot out the out-of-contract coach of the team, Stephen Keshi, after he refused to quit the position. But with widespread reports that the federation’s board members were at loggerheads over the decision to retain the embattled coach or not, former Eagles player, Siasia, told SL10.ng that the job of tinkering the Eagles was not on his mind. The former Eagles coach told SL10.ng, “I have been given the U-23 job and that is what I am focusing on right now. “I’m not thinking of anything else and it is not my job to determine who will handle the Super Eagles. I cannot be thinking about the Super Eagles while I have a job to do with the U-23.” The 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship silver-winning coach also said that his immediate target with the team was qualification for the football event of the 2015 All Africa Games in Congo. “The target will always change as the team progresses but for now, it is to qualify for the All Africa Games,” he said. “We cannot think beyond that for now because that’s the biggest challenge we have at the moment. Maybe when we qualify, our targets will change. But for now, our target is to beat Gabon and get to the All Africa Games.” Via:-Mr Integrity
