I’m not against all religion. I’m against socially - TopicsExpress

I’m not against all religion. I’m against socially highly-influential, religious stupidity. I’m against any religion, comprised of sinful people, who derive a sick sense of celestial satisfaction and security from focusing on the sins it perceives in others; then attempting - through inciting publicly fear and hatred - to marginalize, at best, and physically eradicate, at worst - those targeted from society. I’m against highly educated, religious leaders, who instruct believers on loving like Christ, while still being in desperate need, themselves, of comprehending so Great and Extravagant a Love. I’m against any religion that, by hook or by crook, is determined to drive such a cavernous psychological wedge between parent and children until kids want nothing more to do with their parents god; until kids would rather ‘off themselves’ than exist in a world filled with such social, familial and religious insanity. I’m against any religion that points a condemning finger at others, while it attempts to conceal the deviant, condemnable behavior of its own leadership body. I’m against any religion in which its leadership body remains publicly silent, while their evil, but trusted, collar-wearing counterparts, make God and their religion appear false to, not only its own followers, but unbelieving humanity, too. I’m against any religion, rich with resources, which does only enough good to barely escape suspicions of being false. I’m against any religion that has had over 2,000, evolutionary years to solidify an accurate teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but still remains too blind by division to see or acknowledge when it has completely missed the mark of its high calling in Christ Jesus. I’m all for a religion with the courage to say, “I’m not sure. I could be wrong, but this is what I believe…” I’m for a religion that offers native, veteran and prospective believers a balanced and transparent perspective of both the divinity and reality of its belief system, as it relates to the relationship between God and man - before seeking personal religious commitments. I’m for a religion that accepts believers just as they are and allows God to judge and change, when and if He chooses to. Daily, I arise, longing for such a group of people (not necessarily a religion, anymore). I’m no longer in the market for practiced smiles, fleeting embraces or preached hypocrisy, regardless of how ‘soul-stirring’ a sermon it may seem. Because, once all the dust settles from dancing your religious two-step, if you still are unable or unwilling to love – from feeding the hungry to speaking in tongues - it’s all pointless. Within this group, its leaders value being, as opposed to appearing; it doesn’t misinterpret or glorify works above grace; it doesn’t teach a gospel it doesn’t live by and values peace and love above all else. I’m on a desperate quest to find a group of believers who love, respect and accept their neighbor. If it doesn’t exist, because imperfect people make up our religions, then how can any religion that claims to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ feel justified in how Christianity mistreats God’s LGBT children? Moreover, why is this archaic level of religious insanity permitted by society to persist? Hence my new inspirational ministry project entitled, Though They Slay Me, which needs your support to launch. Please support it to help me, hopefully, speak peace to countless LGBT believing men and women, young and aging, who still spiritually struggle with their relationship with God.
