I’m so tired of turning the news on and hearing about yet another shooting somewhere in this country. Useless killings of all ages. I must say, this Granny tried not to pay attention a while back to a segment on the Today Show about “backpack shields”. It caused a sick feeling in my gut. Not because the idea is not a good one in today’s world, but how is one to explain to a grandbaby what to do with it and why? Yes, we know the “bad person” and “stranger” talks that the parents of our grandbabies must have with them today. But how much do we tell or shield our babies from in the horrible realities of life in the twenty first century? When I see the reports on the news of these shootings, for instance, this last one at the airport… I am puzzled why they do not have everyone checked at entrances… especially someone who is packing some odd bag or objects. When I go to our local elementary school to go pick up my grandbaby… it almost takes an act of congress to get through the entrance door. A month ago, I thought it was a bit ridiculous. NOOO, now I am thankful!... ღღbonnieღღ
