I’m sorry folks but I had to chuckle when I heard this one… in a lot of ways funny but it’s also kind of sad. I just received word my opponent is taking credit for picking up the phone and calling to have potholes patched on the approach leading up to University High School. First off, anyone can call the Department and request a patching. Secondly, he’s talking about three potholes in the stretch of 20 feet or so. That being said as Senate Transportation Chair I thought I should point out a few recent projects that I have addressed in response to constituent contacts. I’m sure I forgotten more than a few projects. Consider this the abbreviated version. Route 7 west Route 19 south Earl Core Rd Greenbag Rd Route 857 Route 73 Crosswalk enhancements Fort Martin Rd ditching and landslips Crosswalk Safety signs for High Street I-79/I-68 Interchange, improvements included signage, lighting and parapet height increase. NEW exit on I-79 to accommodate increased economic growth Roundabout exit for the Mileground Elementary School…this included a special trip to Charleston and meeting with the Governor to get this approved. Future projects will include Summers School Rd, Toms Run, Halleck Rd and a handful of transportation projects in Marion County. Need I say more?
