I’m still increasingly concerned about Facebook’s policy of seizing user information and selling it to other companies. They go through smartphone contacts to identify Facebook users and then suggest them as “friends.” They track browsing history – including purchases – and sell that to online marketers. Their ads appear anytime a browser is open, not just when one is logged into Facebook. They know what hardware and software is being used. Their Messenger app turns on your smartphone’s microphone and camera – Facebook admits this, but denies doing it when the app isn’t running. The list of what they do with hardware, software, browsing history and information goes on and on. Quietly and without them overtly saying so, they are continually taking information and selling it to other companies.
