I’m taking in my evening television shows, and on come the commercials which I’m quick to tune out as most of them have no interest to me. I tune out, grab my phone and check my Facebook newsfeed. All of a sudden I hear a big Reggae tune come out of my television and my first reaction is ‘Oh snap … what’s that?!’ No sooner had I said the words, the classic lyrics ‘bam bam’ echo from the TV in whose voice but Sister Nancy!?! I can’t believe her chune is being played in the background of a Reebok commercial! What is this? I’m astonished! How amazing is it for Reggae culture to get a BIG Reebok commercial?! Do you know what that means? The Reggae culture is still alive and well and being well received by the masses. Bam Bam was originally released in 1980 and still receives a great response when heard in big dances. I am happy as a proud West Indian to see and hear Sister Nancy on a commercial for a classic company like Reebok. It would’ve been nice to see a “Sister” in the commercial but baby steps; kudos to Sister Nancy and Reebok for this major deal. -QueenD- The L3 Intern https://youtube/watch?v=K8-el2WtBFU
