I’m working with a group of really talented people (coders, developers, business folks) downtown this weekend to quickly create a mobile phone application that is broadly geared at “smart phone users who are ready to help the ocean but don’t know exactly how”. Our goal is to provide positive peer pressure to enable individuals to lower their impact on the ocean and provide guidance/suggestions. We also want to help individuals visualize the aggregated impact of their community (i.e., my individual decisions may have small impact but together we can make a difference). Currently, we see the app: Suggesting tasks/challenges (carpool, volunteer for beach cleanups, etc) Awarding points for positive behaviors Offering rewards via badges and recognition Tracking progress (individual/community aggregate) Connecting socially with like-minded people (actions could be posted to Facebook and other social media) I’d really like to ask you a few questions about the usefulness of our application. Please follow the link below to respond to our 2-minute survey. This is part of a cyclical refinement and validation process, so thanks to all whove replied to my earlier queries.
