I’ve been asking these two questions for some time now and still not received a response… so I am going to have another try, but also pick them apart myself. My questions are: 1. Why did the EVRD not alert to Kate’s trousers and Sean’s t-shirt when they were in the villa? 2. why did the clothes not contaminate other items they were boxed with to be taken to the search venue? We know from the files that the EVRD alerted to Kate’s trousers and Sean’s t-shirt. We know from the dogs video that these items of clothing were in the villa when the dogs searched it, and did not produce an EVRD alert at that time. We know from the files that the clothes from the villa were recorded and packed up into cases and boxes and taken to the sports hall for the dogs searches. We know that is was here that Eddie alerted. We know Eddie did not alert to any of the other items that had been in the same box/case as the trousers and t-shirt From the above factual information there are several possibilities. 1. That the clothes were ‘reeking of cadaver’ (quote Ben Thompson) when they were in the villa but Eddie FAILED to alert 2. That the clothes did not have cadaver scent on them when in the villa but DID when they were packaged to take to the sports hall 3. That the clothes did not have cadaver scent on them when they were in the villa, or when they were packed up to take to the sports hall but DID when they were laid out in said hall for the dogs to inspect. Now let us examine these 3 scenarios. 1. We are told Eddie is the best of the best and does not get it wrong. If these clothes smelled of cadaver due to them being in contact with Madeleine’s body then they would have had the ‘scent of death’ on them in the villa too, and this represents quite a serious failing on the part of the EVRD. 2. If the clothes were not contaminated by cadaver scent when in the villa then this would make sense of the fact that Eddie did not alert to them at that time. If they had the scent of death on them when they were packaged up, then they would have contaminated the rest of the items they were boxed with (ref Grime personal profile, carpet/diary case). We know from the fact that none of the other items were alerted to that this did not happen… unless of course they were missed by the EVRD, representing another failure. 3. Only if the clothes only took on the scent of cadaverine when they were laid down in the sports hall, do the dogs alerts, and lack of them, make sense. Now, how could that happen, I wonder?
