I’ve been having a hard time. My owner sadly passed away and I’ve been left without a place to call home. Hello, I’m Noel. I’m 12 years old and I’m at Lort Smith Adoption Centre to find a new home. I’ve been told older dogs can get overlooked in the shelter environment. I’m not sure why though. I’m an active fellow with plenty of life in me yet. Dogs like me can live well in to their late teens. There are a lot of advantages to adopting a mature pet. We’re generally already trained, more likely to sleep through the night, will adjust to your routine easier and are less destructive than younger animals. What you see is usually what you get with older animals. We’ve developed our personalities already and it’s easier to tell if we’ll be a good match with our owners. Lort Smith are doing all they can to find me a home. They’ve chosen me to star on Melbourne’s Channel 7 news during the weather with Jo Silvagni tonight at approximately 6.55pm. Could you share this post to help let everyone know? All senior dogs (seven years and over) at Lort Smith, including myself, are available for adoption for a voluntary contribution. This means people choose how much they offer Lort Smith when adopting older animals. This is to help make sure we get re-homed and back to a peaceful routine as soon as possible.
