I’ve been researching Desteni since 2007 and have also visited the Desteni farm where I stayed for almost three years, and never has anyone forced any beliefs upon me or forced me to do anything, never were there any rituals or practices of any kind involved nor has anyone tried to manipulate me or my will. There is no leader or master in the Desteni group, nor is there any form of hierarchy. On the contrary, the principle is oneness and equality of life, where life is acknowledged as the ‘highest value’ and thus the realization that the ‘highest’/’best’ we can be in this one life on earth is to be equals in life - which means to respect each-other as life and to care for and support all life equally. This principle applied throughout all our systems would ensure for instance the end of all abuse and exploitation and would dignify life and our co-existence as humanity. I mean it is such a simple principle, in fact representing the words of Jesus in many ways, and from what I have observed in terms of people attacking Desteni, is that there is always an agenda of self-interest or fear of loss of some kind of privileges that one feels are threatened if life on earth would be based on oneness and equality.
