I’ve come to the conclusion that arguing with a pit-bull owner is an exercise in futility. They are wholly convinced that the breed is misunderstood and someone must champion their cause. So self-deluded into a false sense of security they don’t see the killing machine standing right in front of them. So many innocent people torn apart by these animals only to have some nimrod stand up and claim “it’s not the dogs fault it’s the owner.” Really? Did the dogs owner chew that child’s face off? Did the owner drag the half-eaten body of a 80yr. old woman down the street like a prize catch? No. No matter how much they try to convince me I don’t buy it. You like the dog because of what it is and the fear it creates and the owners will go apeshit if you insinuate otherwise or that their animal is capable of such brutal savagery. “My dog would never do that.” is the usual response. Do have a verbal agreement with the animal? Did the dog assure you he would never do exactly what he was bred for, not even once? Good thing I don’t make the rules because the owners would be 100% liable in the event the animal did what its very DNA was programmed to do. If the animal kills the owner is guilty of murder. Any animal under your supervision causes harm you are the responsible party. I love dogs as much as the next man but when it comes to a human life over an animal I’m going to choose human every single time. You don’t reason with an animal, you put it down.
