I’ve received spam (defined as unsolicited e-mail) from a website / logo / content developer who says she offers a service where she can write “SEO”[1] content for websites / products / blogs at $10 per 500 words. She says she can write content on any topic. As a policy I don’t respond to spam or avail myself of any services marketed in this manner, but in this case I’m tempted to contact her to have her write something particularly absurd and satirical. But I’m looking for comedic ideas. For example, it would be funny to have her write marketing material describing a piece of jewelry such as a “Circumcircular Sector Lapel Pin” which I would insist would have to be be referred to that way because it so resembles the shape of Pac-Man®. I would emphasize that we’d want to make the pin seem fun and playful, reminiscent of our childhood playing video games without actually referring to the trademarked video game. In my proposal I’d want to insert considerable vague gobbledygook, like using the word “action” as a transitive verb, as in “we need to action the potential market by leveraging synergies within our audience.” It might be worth the $10 and would support a struggling web designer. But is it mean? [1] — I had to look up “SEO” — it means “search-engine optimized”. Could be fun to fund nonsense that is search-engine optimized. But what?
