I’ve said before CPF issue is like a hornet’s nest. Once - TopicsExpress

I’ve said before CPF issue is like a hornet’s nest. Once shaken, be prepared to be overwhelmed by swarms of angry bees. CPF is the people’s hard earned blood & sweat money. It involves not only those 55 and above but practically every working Singaporean with a CPF account and contribution. Some could be planning to use it for retirement. Some could be planning for investment. Some could be planning for their children’s higher education fund and some could be planning for a holiday/pilgrim trip. Whatever these plans may be, it is their savings and they have every right to use it whichever way they deem fit. In my opinion, the people are not only angry, they want answers and they want the truth, which they are entitled to. Not some kind of textbook answer and status quo. Unlike angry bees where you can appease with smoke and time, no amount of window dressing is going to make this CPF issue go away. Until the people have their questions and rightful claims/demands answered, it is going to continue to fester on and the crowd at HLP is only going to grow larger. The more the government try to explain its way out, the more pissed off are the people. Unless the authorities understand the severity of the issue and come clean with all the answers, this might just be the last straw that is going to break the camel’s back.
