I’ve thought about this for several days, since it went down - TopicsExpress

I’ve thought about this for several days, since it went down last Saturday morning. I also realize only three kinds of people will comment on this post; haters…because they are everywhere, those of us who respect the sport of fishing and the etiquette generally followed and the people like you who would pull up on someone without regard to anyone but yourself. Your probably a member of PCF so this is a good place to reach out toyou, the guy in the light blue offshore series Carolina Skiff who wanted to fish on top of my Saturday. Fishing or anchoring next to someone on a public spot offshore is not the same as motoring into a two foot deep, very narrow area where someone is already anchored and fishing. The redfish tour has a rule that you have to stay 100 yards from someone anchored during a tournament. Where did you plan to fish…on top of me? Cast over my customers lines? Where you going to muscle in and try to push us out of the spot I had been in for about 15 minutes? The spot we had just stirred up coming into, a spot that would take at least 15 minutes to settle down and the fish to get back to some sort of normal pattern. There is barely enough room for one boat and for the life of me can’t understand what you thought you were going to accomplish by anchoring on top of me. The worse part about the entire situation is you started yelling at me, calling me an asshole, telling me how nobody likes me after you, yes you, broke a rule of not coming up on someone while they are in a “quiet trout spot”. I realize the five pound trout I took out of my fish box is as close to a big trout as you will probably ever get…I guess it would have pissed you off if I would have shown you both of the five pound fish I had in the box or the third we caught after leaving you…neither caught there. I doubt you will ever amount to much when it comes to fishing based on what I saw today. I will give you some friendly advice: when you see a boat on a spot you want to fish, instead of starting trouble for both boats, move on and spend that energy finding a new spot. That is what I do and why my people put so many big trout in my boat. If you don’t believe there are a lot of big trout put in my boat just look at my pictures. One last thing; like many others on the water my age, I could give a f what anybody thinks about me. I don’t pull up on people and I expect the same respect. If anyone says I have or do I will call them a liar. I know the bay as well or better than anyone out there. There is always somewhere to find fish where no one else is around. Oh…and I’m sure there is at least one person on this site that likes me.
