I’ve updated the Transparency section of my website to include more information not only about the financial costs of my parliamentary work, but the environmental costs, as well. Representing one of the most distant ridings from our nation’s capital, I often find myself on long jet flights—a significant source of carbon emissions. I’ve made it a habit to track my travel and account for it through carbon offsets. Since the end of the last fiscal year, I’ve purchased offsets for 16 flights and hundreds of kilometers of car travel, totaling 12.559 tonnes of CO2. These emissions are offset by supporting forest restoration in BC.
