J.R.Oliver and G.Nelson, Jesmond 1921. The Oliver family begam farming as early as 1892 and continued to farm for some 30 years or so at High Heaton Farm which formed one part of the vast area of Jesmond Dene. George Nelson had recently taken up a job as byreman at Brunton Farm a few miles north west of High Heaton Farm. John Oliver lived at 72, Hazelwood Ave, Jesmond between 1921-1925, and this photo was taken the back lane near his house.
