JALANDHAR: A college student was arrested here on Tuesday for spreading rumours through social networking sites on "Negro" and "Kala Kachha" gangs striking terror in the villages in the night.Concerned over the panic spreading in the villages, police on Tuesday tracked down the culprit, Akshay Rana, in the city and found that the boy used to post cooked up news on Facebook about the gangs striking at various places in the rural belt."His Facebook posts created panic among people, especially in rural areas, and during investigations, it came out that he was cooking up false news and posting it through a fake account in the name of Kala Kutcha Gang," said ADCP (Crime) Harpreet Singh Mander.The boy had posted items about "Negro" and "Kala Kachha" gangs claiming that they strike in the night at different places and were injuring people badly.
