#JAMHURINADEMOKRASIA The Unconstitutionality and irrationality in drafting the anti-terrorism bill can undo our democratic gains: 1. The presidents free hand in appointing the Inspector General is also his free hand in sacking him so the appointee will be serving at the mercies of the president; such an appointee will have no respect for established bodies like the national police commission; 2. The rule against posting or exchanging gory images and the punitive Ksh. 1 million is against freedom of expression; 3. The procedure to seek victims permission to publicize their fate is the same as saying they die silently; it is therefore undermining any privilege or concern that might be accorded them in the event of airing their plight; it is also a way of silencing the media on such issues; 4. I can clearly read the return of detention without tiral in one years confinement of terrorism of suspects since in case of victimization many perceived suspects will undergo undeserved torture..... I wish I had the power to directly push for this concern. Because I am neither in parliament nor senate, I request those who will be privileged to directly influence this law to represent us well, knowing that we have one nation to preserve.
