Fatou Camara, who has now reunited with her three kids in Georgia unequivocally distanced herself from statements that were attributed to her by the Senegalese press giving a free pass to her Ex- despotic boss Yahya Jammeh, whose image was portrayed positively in Fatous own account in those interviews she has granted to the Senegalese press. She made a posting on her Facebook page denying making any statement suggesting that has no grudges against Jammeh. Hear Fatou Camara now: For the record, the interview done in Senegal was done in Wolof which was translated to French and subsequently translated in English through Google translate. There is no doubt that the message was changed during translation. Jammeh was responsible for my arrest and detention and it will defy logic for me to say that I am grateful to him and that I don’t have any grudges against him. Her unpredictable legal nightmares, coupled with the lack of independent judiciary, compelled her to abandon her native country, the Gambia--a nation ruled by a dictator, who said he has cure for HIV/AIDS. The dictator uses peanuts and banana to cure his aids patients. Fatou Camara, a onetime media darling for Jammeh Musa, faces 15 years jail term if convicted on a charge of defaming the President Yahya Jammeh. She was accused among other things: giving information to the Editor of the Freedom Newspaper Pa Nderry MBai in an attempt to tarnish Jammehs image. She rejected the charges. That case is now history since she was able to make it to the US. Fatou said she is very grateful to her fans, supporters and well wishers for standing by her during her rough time in the Gambia. To all my fans, supporters, well wishers, family and friends, once again I sincerely thank you for all your prayers, support and concern for the boys and I. We are all finally together after the terrible ordeal in Banjul. A great relief knowing that chapter of our life is behind us. As we pick ourselves up to open a new chapter in our life, I asked that we collectively pray for our brothers and sisters who continue to experience unjust abused daily in the Gambia. May we live to see a Gambia free of unlawful arrests, false charges and illegal detentions. I pray that God continue to give us strength, will, wisdom and steadfastness.
