JANE HARRISON, RN, MSN, of Woonsocket RI, age 72, passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side on October 3, 2014 in RI Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Jane graduated from Salem Hospital School of Nursing and earned her advanced degrees in nursing from Boston College. She spent the last two decades of her nursing career at the Providence VA Medical Center. She was a longtime friend of Bill Wilson, and helped innumerable women and men realize their potential for dignity and honor, by living these ideals in her life. She was an active member of the senior centers in Cumberland and Lincoln, RI where she enjoyed exercise classes, outings, and the good-natured company of other members. She was also a member of the Audubon Society and a lifelong supporter of several conservation and wildlife organizations. Jane enjoyed the ocean, birding and the friendship and caring of many friends, especially the love and support of longtime friend Eileen Kenneally of Arlington, MA. She is predeceased by parents Frank B. and Mary Harrison, and brother Francis B. Harrison. She is survived by sister-in-law Sandra Harrison; nephews Frank, Brian, and Kevin Harrison; and great-nephews Conor and Mitchell Harrison, all from NH; and her beloved cat Mitsy. Please join family and friends Saturday, November 15, 12:00 PM at the Emmanuel Church, 120 Nate Whipple Hwy. Cumberland RI for a celebration of Jane’s life followed by a reception in the church hall.
